Imagine being at home and chilling, you know, just hanging out in your house or apartment or whatever, which you’ve been inhabiting for years, and then one day your landlord shows up and tells you you’re being evicted. You’ve never damaged anything and you always pay the rent on time, but the issue isn’t what you’ve done so much as it is what you are. You see, the neighbourhood is gonna get real wealthy soon, so your landlord wants you out so he can rent to people who can pay more. You do technically have the option to stay here, but know that you will be ostracized and looked down upon as the Only Normal Dude in the neighbourhood, and besides everything you have known and loved around here- the park by the river, the convenience store that sells your favorite ice cream, the hairdresser who always tells you about his kid- will be gone and replaced by something else soon. Wouldn’t you be angry? Wouldn’t you be fucking pissed to lose everything you have for a stupid and arbitrary reason? Wouldn’t you want to bash your landlord’s face in with a brick?

Now imagine. You are a witch in 5th century Britain. You don’t know what rent is because the land doesn’t belong to anyone and you have been chilling here with fairies and other fantastical creatures for centuries. Until suddenly, with no warning whatsoever, the magic starts dwindling off the island. Humans got themselves a new champion, you see, so they’re claiming the world for themselves. So your choices are exiling yourself to the reverse side of the world with all the other fairies (and lose your home in the process) or remain and be ostracized and hated until the ends of times. Let it be clear: you are not a good person. You are cruel and selfish. But the issue isn’t anything you have ever done. It’s what you are.

Wouldn’t you be angry? Wouldn’t you be fucking pissed at this dragon-hearted sister of yours for fighting for your demise? Wouldn’t you want to tear the chalk walls of Camelot down brick by brick?
