The 2023 FGO April's Fool event introduced an au version of Guda, commonly referred to as Rokka Fujimaru, who is basically from a timeline where she failed everyone died and she's the only one left wandering from world to world unable to truly die. Her name is spelled 藤丸 六香 (as opposed to 藤丸 立香 for "Ritsuka Fujimaru") because 立 typically means "to stand." 六香 is the one who lost her standing as a master.

I love Rokka for very obvious reasons but also love love love the implications of Rokka’s existence. Our Guda’s success is as much skill as it is sheer dumb luck and just because we happen to be in the timeline where we got everything right so far doesn’t mean that this is a constant. We could have died a bunch of times. We have died a bunch of times. And so many of us will die in the future. Guda’s success is built on the growing pile of their own corpses.

Anyways I think Rokka should get to be the representation of the absolute worst of Guda. I don’t mean it as in “ohh she’s an evil Guda” she’s a perfectly pleasant fellow who will joke around with you and help you out and overall, you know, be just what you’d expect Guda to be. But she’s also the one who lost everything. The one who was driven into a corner and has been wandering all alone for an unspecified amount of time. Wouldn’t that make you desperate? Wouldn’t this starve you to death? Of purpose, of interaction, of life? Wouldn’t you be willing to do anything to get it back? This is who I think Rokka should be. Guda’s desperate drive to survive driven to its logical extreme. The person you become when you refuse to break and die even as the world implodes around you.

The difference between Rokka and Guda is that if you ask Guda if they could a human being to survive they wouldn't know how to answer. If you asked Rokka if she could eat a human being to survive she would immediately respond with yes. To clarify: I firmly believe that Guda absolutely could be driven to cannibalism. The question isn’t whether Guda would be willing to eat a dude. The question is: do you think your survival is worth desecrating the corpse of another human being in the worst way possible? Do you think your survival is worth making yourself into something lower than any animal? Do you have what it takes? Do you have what it takes to look at your kin and purposely reducing them to meat? It’s not a question Guda ever wants to consider. Of course they wouldn’t know what to answer. They want to live- but at that cost? It’s not even a matter of want. It’s a matter of can. Do they want that? Could they do that? Rokka doesn’t even have to think about the question. She’s willing to do anything to survive. And she is intimately familiar with the horrifying things she’s capable of doing to that end. Of course the answer is yes.

I think the gang deserves to see Rokka go completely apeshit, and go “jesus fucking christ our worst case scenario is BAD bad, huh?” all while Guda is coming to the incredibly uncomfortable realization that. This isn’t a worst-case scenario thing. Guda is also very capable of these horrors. They are committing horrors by denying lostbelts over and over. They have a solid support system so they haven’t gone off the deep end yet but. They could. They could.
