In ISAT, food is a metaphor for love.
I feel a bit silly writing this because I mean, it's obvious. Bonnie spells out multiple times that food is what gets morale up. They offer food to people to comfort them. Anytime there's an important bonding moment (outside of individual friend quests,) it's during a meal; snacktimes in the House, picnic after Isabeau's friend quest, samossas at the clocktower. Food is a symbol of love. You eat with your loved ones. To have food is to be loved.
But the bit I want to get to is that Siffrin is a character who is, very early on, defined as hungry. In Dormont, they eat the pain au chocolat in two bites. At the clocktower, it's mentioned multiple times that they're a big eater, that they haven't eaten their fill yet. Siffrin is hungry, literally, and metaphorically- anytime Siffrin wants something, it's described as "hungering for it".
You understand, right? Food is love, and Siffrin is hungry. You don't need me to spell it out any more to you, do you?
