When I first watch Wakfu when I was a wee lad, my understanding of the characters was that Amalia was meant to be the Feminine And Annoying About It female character, while Evangelyne was meant to be the Vaguely Tomboyish Who Scorn Feminity female character, as it was custom back in the 2000s.
Upon rewatch, though, I must say I was wrong, and the proof of that is the Gobbowl episode. Gobbowl (hardcore american football, for those who don't know a thing about the show) is seen as a rather masculine and unladylike activity. You know who hates gobbowl? Evangelyne. You know who LOVES that shit though? Amalia does!
So from this I'm concluding: Evangelyne isn't someone who scorns feminity. Evangelyne is an atrocious fucking snob. She scorns anything she perceives as immature- so make-up and shopping, but also sports and just. The general idea of "fun." She's not a misogynist, she's a catholic.
Evangelyne has been basically raised to be Amalia's bodyguard since she was a kid, so that's probably the result of her internalizing HARD that she needs to be The Responsible One (tm). She was given responsibilities! She gotta live up to them! Amalia's a princess she has leeway on this shit but Evangelyne has to be here to make sure she's safe from dangers (real or imaginary, I figure she'd also try to shield Amalia from "bad influences" and the likes.)
