One of the recurring themes of wakfu/dofus is the concept of immortality. Specifically, the idea that immortality fucking suuuuuuuuuucks.
You've got Goultard, who became plural because switching was easier than fronting for centuries. You've got Qilby, who was driven so desperate for anything new that he went off to commit multiple genocides. You've got Kerubim Atcham & Joris, who are stuck in the most fucked up codependant family dynamic you'll ever see. You've got Yugo, aging so slowly under normal circumstances he'd only reach adulthood when most of his friends are long dead. You've got Ogrest, who outlived his beloved and was so overcome with grief he drowned the world. Wakfu and Dofus as a whole are just a thesis on how you really really don't want to live forever.
But by definition... there's no way out. There's no "at least it'll be over when I die." All you can do is keep moving forward, and hopefully your coping mechanism will be less destructive than others.
