Anyways. Guda and Castoria. Are the same. They're both shit-ass nobodies who have been asked to carry the weight of their world despite being completely unqualified for it. And because they're intimately aware of how much it sucks this evokes unspeakable pity and rage to them about the other. Why do you have to do this. Why do you have to do this. This isn't right. This isn't fair. Why aren't you angrier. Why aren't you sadder. Scream. SCREAM! That's why Castoria acts the way she does in Norwich. Castoria almost calls for the gang to run away from the calamity. Not because she is terrified (though she is) not because she thinks they can't win (though she does) but because Guda so, so clearly wants to run, but won't allow themself to out of duty. So she'll do it. She'll be the coward. She'll be the one to give everyone else an excuse to run. If they won't ask to be allowed to leave then she will do it for them.
That's also why it means the fucking world to Castoria that Guda chose to stick around and help her. It's not just that they were kind. It's that it's easy to be kind when you're powerful. But Guda isn't powerful at all they're already struggling with their own duties but they chose to hold her hand nonetheless. You stood by my side when no one else would so I will stick by yours no matter what happens. Time or space or death doesn't matter I will pay you back I have to ease at least one of your burdens. Castoria couldn't comprehend sacrificing yourself for the sake of a world but she can certainly sacrifice herself for the sake of one. And that's why even now even dead she's haunting every alternate Castoria in existence whispering hello. This is our friend. You don't know them but I do. You have to take care of them, because I am dead and I cannot. You have to take care of them, because they're terrible at doing it themself. You have to help them. We promised. Alright?
